Help & Getting Started
whereiput.it helps you remember where your things are. Here is how it fits together.
How it works
Create an Area for a place you keep things — like "Apartment" or "Garage". Inside an Area you add Locations, such as "Top drawer" or "Shelf B". Then you add Items to a Location and tag them with categories. To find something later, just search its name and jump straight to where it lives. You can snap a photo and let the AI draft a list of items, and an administrator can share a single Area with another person.
- How do I find an item?
- Type its name in the search box. Results show where each item lives — the Location and Area — so you can go straight to it.
- How does the photo assist work?
- Take a photo of a shelf or drawer and the AI suggests a list of items it sees. You review and edit the list, then save it to a Location.
- Can someone else see my inventory?
- Only if an administrator grants them access to a specific Area. They then see and edit that one Area; the rest of your inventory stays private.
- How do I delete my data?
- Request account deletion and your account, items, and photos are removed through the scheduled-deletion process, including search index entries.
